Auf diesem, seinem 9. Album hat Harry Payuta seinen Sitar-Stil noch mehr »verwestlicht«, seine Spielweise erinnert an George Harrison oder die Incredible String Band, klingt dabei aber höchst eigenständig.

Die Arbeiten an dem Album „Zacatecoluca“ fanden in Mexiko, Honduras, Guatemala und in Payutas derzeitigem Domizil in El Salvador statt. Das hinterlässt natürlich Spuren . So ist der Titel »Aqua del Mar«, gesungen von Melvin Hernandez, sicherlich als eine Hommage an Carlos Santana zu verstehen.

Nach vielen Jahren ist Harry Payuta auch wieder als Gitarrist zu erleben, den Titel „Good to be anywhere“ versteht er selbst als Widmung an sein Idol Keith Richards.

That means definitely a „Back to the Roots“ for Payuta, a former member of countless rock bands as a singer, songwriter, guitarist and bass player.

On this album he has his Sitar style even more »westernized« and developed for more options for changing harmony, which with this modal instrument in the traditional Indian way of playing is not possible. Work on Zacatecoluca took place in Mexico, Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador.
