Zusammen mit dem Studioalbum „Magnification“ von 2001 ist es das einzige offizielle YES-Album, das nie auf Vinyl erschienen ist. Bis jetzt – denn Sireena Records wird noch in diesem Jahre beide Klassiker erstmals auf 180 Gramm schwerem Vinyl veröffentlichen, jeweils als Doppelalbum im Klappcover. Ein Muss – nicht nur für die YES-Fans in der ganzen Welt.

1997 hatte Tastendrücker Rick Wakeman mal wieder die Band verlassen, er wurde durch Billy Sherwood ersetzt, der just zu der Zeit zusammen mit Chris Squire an einem gemeinsamen Projekt arbeitete. Sänger Jon Anderson bekam die Aufnahmen zu Ohren, fand sie sehr interessant, und aus den Aufnahmen entstand schlussendlich ein neues YES-Album: „Open Your Eyes“. Für manche Fans gehört es zu den wahrscheinlich anspruchsvollsten Alben der Band – eine wirklich stimmige Zusammenstellung aus eingängigen und interessanten Titeln. Dem aufmerksamen Hörer erschließt sich das Album als eine Brücke zwischen den progressiven Werken wie „Closer To The Edge“ und den mehr modernen Platten wie „90125“. “Open Your Eyes” is the seventeenth studio album by progressive rock band YES, originally released in 1997. Together with the album “Magnification” from 2001 it was never released on vinyl before. Up to now - Sireena Records will publish both the albums in this year. On 180 Gram vinyl, in gatefold cover, as double album. A Must – not only for the YES fans all over the world!

In 1997 Rick Wakeman again had left the band and was replaced by Billy Sherwood. YES was planning a tour and decided to record a new album to promote while they were on the road. Chris Squire and Billy Sherwood had been working on a project together. Jon Anderson became interested and the music became a full-fledged YES project. The result was “Open Your Eyes”, one of the best, and perhaps the most sophisticated of the YES albums – a selection of catchy tunes and interesting themes. It is a quite enjoyable set of songs with the classic yes style and a modern sound. A bridge between the progressive times of “Closer to the Edge” and the modern tracks of “90 125”. In every case “Open Your Eyes” became a typical YES album. Now on vinyl for the very first time! A world premiere!
