Alle der über 30 MYTHOS Alben von 1972 bis heute sind "Longseller". Sie sind von zeitloser Qualität und werden immer wieder nachgepreßt. Demzufolge sind sie zumindest im Internet (Amazon & Co.) immer erhältlich. Ausnahme: „Grand Prix“ von 1981!

Doch nun veröffentlicht Sireena Records endlich auch dieses Album auf CD und macht somit den kompletten Backkatalog des Berliner Projekts erhältlich.

Kurzer Rückblick. 1969 gründete MYTHOS-Mastermind Stephan Kaske mit zwei Schulfreunden in Berlin das Rocktrio MYTHOS, das sich anfangs sehr an den Bands der sogenannten Berliner Schule wie Tangerine Dream oder Agitation Free orientierte. Analoge Syntheziser in Verbindung mit Flöte, Drums und Gitarre war damals spannend und neu – der Krautrock war geboren, und Mythos zählten zu den Mitbegründern. Kein Wunder, dass das Kultlabel Ohr die Band entdeckte. 1971 erschien das selbstbetitelte Debütalbum, gefolgt von dem Zweitling "Dreamlab", 1975 erschienen bei Kosmische Kuriere. MYTHOS zählten zu der Zeit zu den tourfreudigsten Bands, trotzdem fand Stephan Kaske noch Zeit, um zahlreiche Film- und Fernsehmusiken zu komponieren. Bis 1979 wechselte er immer wieder seine Mitmusiker ein und aus, nahm mit der Band noch zwei weitere Alben auf, dann war Schluss mit der Band MYTHOS. Ab 1980 war MYTHOS nur noch Stephan Kaske, der durch seine Soundtracks den Spaß an alleiniger Studio- und Tüftelarbeit gefunden hatte. Nur noch Gastmusiker fanden den Weg in das eigene Mythos Studio.

In diesem Studio entstand 1981 das Album „Grand Prix“, eine völlig stimmige Melange aus Groove, analoger Synthiearbeit und Krautrock. Der Einsatz von Flöte und Vocoder bildet hier das Sahnehäuptchen. Ähnlich wie die ehemaligen Mitstreiter Tangerine Dream oder Klaus Schulze hatte Kaske für MYTHOS seinen Weg gefunden, den er bis in die heutige Zeit konsequent weitergegangen ist. Dazu sehr erfolgreich. „Grand Prix“ erschien auf dem Hamburger Label SKY Records von Günter Körber, das passte!

Auf dieser erstmaligen Veröffentlichung auf CD sind zwei ein Bonustracks enthalten, die Stephan Kaske in seinem unerschöpflichen Archiv ausgegraben hat. Ein Füllhorn elektronischer Extraklasse.

Now finally Sireena Records reissues "Grand Prix" for the first time on CD, responding to the request of many fans of MYTHOS.

A short review. In 1969 MYTHOS-mastermind Stephan Kaske founded with two school friends the rock trio MYTHOS in Berlin, which in the beginning is oriented at the so-called Berlin School Bands like Tangerine Dream and Agitation Free. Analog synthesizers combined with flute, drums and guitar was exciting and new at that time - the Krautrock was born, and MYTHOS were among the founders. No wonder that the cult label OHR discovered the band. In 1971, the self-titled debut albumhas been published, followed by the second album "Dreamlab", from 1975. At that time MYTHOS was on the road and played every club from north to south of Germany, nevertheless Stephan Kaske still found time to compose music for numerous movies and television films . Until 1979, he joined his fellow musicians constantly in and out, the band recorded two more albums, then it was over with the band MYTHOS. From 1980 MYTHOS was only Stephan Kaske, only guest musicians found their way into his own Mythos studio.

In this studio "Grand Prix" was recorded in 1981, a completely harmonious blend of groove, analog synthie work and Krautrock. Similar to the former combatants Tangerine Dream or Klaus Schulze, Kaske had found his way. A successful way until today. "Grand Prix" appeared on the Hamburg label Sky Records by Günter Körber, that fits!

On this first release on CD, two bonus tracks are included, that Kaske found in his archive. A listening pleasure!
